Abstract: | Direct fluorescent antibody tests were used to detect Escherichia coli possessing K88 and 987P antigens. Identification of bacteria was accomplished on suspensions of organisms from clinical isolates, on frozen sections and impression smears from small intestine and on faecal smears. This assay makes possible the rapid identification of E. coli possessing K88 and 987P pilus antigens. |
