| Abstract: | In this paper，the development of genetics and breeding of Capsicum spp. in China and abroad in recent years was reviewed. Theresearch progress of pepper resources，genome，genetic mechanism，breeding methods，varieties development，etc were discussed. The future development of pepper genetics and breedingwas prospected according to the present production status and internationalresearch hotspot. |
