文章回顾了欧洲地中海国家荒漠化的历史与现状,从欧盟及各国整治荒漠化的策略着眼,对欧盟于1990年启动的最大一个防治荒漠化项目“地中海沿岸的荒漠化与土地利用（MEDALUS）”的目标、进程、研究内容、技术规程、监测标准和方法学进行了探讨,并对该项目前两期取得的成果及未来的研究设想予以引介和评价.

Strategy on Rehabilitation of Desertification Affected Land in the Mediterranean Europe

The history and current status of desertification in Mediterranean Europe was reviewed.The project titled Desertification and land-use systems in the Medit erranean Europe,the biggest of many projects to combat desertification in European Union,was introduced and assessed,which include an overview of site and methodology,the goal,progress,criteria and indicators for monitoring and evaluation etc.The achievements from first to second stages and future trends for research development were also summed in order to referissue to combat desert ification in China.
