Yield Stability and Adaptability of Varieties for the Huang huai Facultative Wheat Zone

Breaking the barrier to wheat yield potential and tackling climate and abiotic stresses are two major research objectives in wheat production to ensure current and future food security. Based on the relationship between photoperiod sensitivity and adaptability, a proposition was drawn in this study that the coordinated interaction of the development process and environmental conditions is the physiological basis of wheat. It is suggested that attention should be paid to the interaction between major development stages and environment, in order to improve adaptability in wheat breeding programs in the Huang Huai Facultative Wheat Zone.
