Effects of Topping Methods on Growth and Yields of Cucumber Plants

No topping o primary stems with no lateral shoots by pinching produced very low yields.Topping of the priumary stems with a few lateral shoots by eimoval of other lateral ones by pinching lowered photosynthetic and evaporation activities,resuted in low fruit sets and yields.Also ,by this method extra training of lateral shoots was necessary.That of the primary stems with lateral shoots attaching two leaves at every node by pinching maintained active physiological functions pf leaves on the primary stems to balance nonproductive and reproductive growth.The best fruit sets and yields proved that this was the best to cucumber growing.
