Drought is the main constraint for potato industry development in Xiji county.Therefore,the technique of double ridges mulching for rain collection is promoted accordingly in this area.For this technique,here mainly introduced the field choice,ridge orientation,reasonable fertilization,ridge formation and mulching,soil treatment,pest and weed control,variety selection,and timely harvest,with emphasis on variety selection,seed treatment,planting,early season management,and disease and pest control,which might provide a reference for high-yielding potato production of dry land in Xiji county,and even south Ningxia mountainous region.
