Pedogenic calcite accumulation in arid and semi-arid regions of the indo-gangetic alluvial plain of erstwhile punjab (india) — Their morphology and origin

In the Indo-Gangetic plain (India), a sequence of soils, developed under different climatic conditions has been investigated micromorphologically to study the evolution of the pedogenic calcite formations. The climate of the plain grades from arid and hot to semi-arid and hot to less hot, and the soils, respectively, from Camborthids, through Calciorthids and Ustochrepts, to Haplustalfs.
