Abstract: | Pb adsorption for 12 soils from Tuscany was studied. The data fitted the Langmuir and the Freundlich isotherms over a large range of concentrations. Results showed that organic matter and clay content were responsible for adsorption maxima. The effect of Mn oxides, explained independently of organic matter and clay, was negligible. The adsorption maxima were generally found to be greater than CEC; the possible mechanisms are discussed. |
