Analysis to Effects of Different Grazing Density on Characteristics of Rangeland Vegetation

The differences of the grazing radius can indict the changes of grazing density or grzing intensity. In this paper authors expounded the vegetation succession characteristics under different grazing radius on Hulunbeir rangeland such as vegetation composition, dominance of main plant species, vegetation degree of succession, height, coverage and the relationships between rangeland productivity and grazing intensity. The research results showed that there was a regular change for vegetation composition including decreasers, increasers and invaders under different grazing density on Hulunbeir rangeland. With the icreases of grazing density, the proportion of invaders became bigger, and the percentage of dominant species in vegetation reduced. Meanwhile, the succession degree of vegetation decreased as well as the rangeland productivity. Applying the quantitative vegetation ecology methods anthors analysed the rangeland vegetation characteristics under grazing conditions and these results can supply the scientific basis for suitable rangeland utilizing and determining the approporiate stocking capacity.
