Abstract: | The non-depolarizing muscle relaxant atracurium was administered to 25 dogs undergoing a variety of surgical procedures under general anaesthesia. An initial dose of 0–5 mg/kg was administered and when the block began to wear off an infusion was begun. A dose of 0–5 mg/kg/hr was administered by a simple infusion technique. Reversal of the neuromuscular block was carried out with either neostigmine or edrophonium preceded by atropine. |
