Control of Osier Weevil Using RH-8954 Oil Liquid Formulation

sier Weevil ( Cryptorrbynchus lapathi L.) is a world wide dangerous pest of poplar trees. Rh-5849 oil formulation, a new form of insect growth regulator, has been developed for control of osier weevil. Over 95% of the larvae of the osier weevil were killed by painting 1% Rh-5849 oil liquid. This pesticide was proved to be a safe, high-effective and economic form of pestcide for control of borers with no environmental pollution and no damage to natural enemies of osier weevil. It is suggested that RH-5849 can be put into practical use in control of borers like osier weevil.
