Dynamics of composition and bioecological characteristics of the dendrologic collection of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden

The paper considers the stages of the formation of the arboretum and results of introduction work with ornamental and arboreal plants of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden and gives the floristic and geographical assessment of species composition of collection plantations. The results of studies of the bioecological characteristics and degree of resistance in ornamental plants are presented. The temperature regime in the winter–spring period is shown to be the most important climatic factor limiting the growth and development of introduced arboreal plants on the territory of the Nikitsky Botanical Garden. The problem of moisture deficit is not so significant and is solved by optimizing the irrigation mode.
