| Abstract: | During the germination and growth of rice seedling,the activity of ph-ospholipase D in the seed had a delaying time about 4-6 days.Then,with the raising of its activity,the contents of phosphatidyl choline(PC),phosphatidyl serine(PS),phosphatidyl ethanolamine(PE)were dropping.At the same time,the contents of phospholipids in seedling increasedrapidly.These results showed that phospholipase D was utilized for thehydrolysis of the stored phospholipids in seeds.Apart from the utilizationof stored phospholipids in seeds,the seedling could and might biosynthe-size larger amounts of phospholipids.The growth of roots and leaves,and the increase of phospholipids in them,were roughly at the same timewith the increase of phospholipase D activity.It was suggested thatphospholipase D in the seedling was closely related to the biosynthesis ofmembrane phospholipids(r=0.941,P<0.01). |
