３只大熊猫自发动脉粥样硬化，年龄约为２２岁、２５岁和２９岁，１只公熊猫２只母熊猫，分别死于胰腺炎，肺炎和心肌炎。动脉粥样硬化病变主要分布在主动脉弓，或延展到胸、腹主动脉和肾动脉，呈现动脉内膜泡状水肿或纤维斑块形成和内膜表面附壁性血栓机化，内弹性膜纤维断裂，平滑肌细胞增生并移向内膜，其周围或胞浆内见嗜苏丹性物质。基质成分为奥辛兰阳性的粘多糖。偶见中膜局灶性纤维化和软骨化。扫描电镜显示病区的内皮细胞肿

PATHOMORPHOLOGIOAL OBSERVAIION ON ATHEROSCLEROSIS IN GIANT PANDA

Three cases of spontaneous atherosclerosis in Giant Panda were reported,which wereabove 22, 25 and 29 years old,1 male and 2 female,The animals died of pancreatitis,pnenmonia and myocarditis,respectively.The atherosclerotic lesions distributed on thearcus aorta major,or extented to the thoracic and abdominal segments of the aorta,andarteriola renalis.The lesion were blister-like edema or fibrotic plaques in the intimaand adhesive organized thrombus on the intimal surface,Disruption of the elastic fiberswas seen in the intimal elastic membrane, proliferation of the smooth muscle cells wasseen in the medial membrane,and some of which also migrated into the intimal tissue.Sudanophilic material was observed in and around some smooth muscle cells.The matrixelements Lreonsisted of alcian blue-positive mucopolysaccharide material.Occasionally,focalfibrosis and cartilaginification were seen in the media.Scanning electronography revea-led the elidothelium swollen,separated,crimped and sloughed off,or the intimal surfa-ce covered with fibrinous granules and nets.There were fibrin layer and cholosclerolCrvstal in the subendothelial tissue.
