| Abstract: | Solvent fractionations of domestic lac were carried out and GPC distributions of molecular weight and UV spectra of soft and hard resins were studied. From the experimental results obtained it was firstly confirmed that lac resin was composed of aliphatic and terpene acids in mole ratio 1 ' 1. The soft resin content of domestic lac was much higher than that of Indian lac. The hard resin was formed by polymerization of the soft resin in the presence of hydroxyl groups. |
