Abstract:Using hybrid rice Shanyou 63 as the material, the economic characters of the plants grown from the seedlings with different number of tillers generated in the fertilized dryland seedling bed were investigated and the ralations between the characters and the number of tillers per plant, the number of panicles per plant were analyzed. The results showed that by fertilized dryland seedling raising and sparse transplanting, the economic characters such as the number of spikelets per panicle, the number of grains per panicle, seed setting percentage, grain weight, panicle weight, the rate of panicles to tillers with or without main culms, etc. related to both the number of tillers per plant and the number of panicles per plant in a quadratic function, two to three tillers per plant for seedlings at transplanting and eight to nine panicles per plant were found to be the best for a high yield.
