Abstract:Studies were conducted to determine the changes of T and B lymphocyte proliferative responses and the relative weights of the immune organs of chickens infected with chicken infectious anemia virus(CIAV). The proliferative responses of T lymphocytes from both thymus and spleen were all significantly weakened at day 14 and day 7-21 after infection, respectively (P<0. 01,P<0. 05). The proliferative responses of B lymphocytes from Bursa of Fabricius and spleen were noticeably abated at day 7-21 and day 21 after infection, respectively (P<0. 01,P<0. 05). These indicated that the cellular and humoral immune functions were significantly decreased in both the primary and the secondary immune organs of the infected chickens. The thymus-to-body weight ratios and Bursa-to-body weight ratios were markedly reduced at day 7-21 and day 7-14 after infection, respectively (P<0. 01 ,P<0. 05).
