物种多样性维持机制研究进展

物种多样性的维持机制是生物多样性研究的一个核心和前沿问题。该问题的深入研究对于进一步阐明物种多样性对生态系统稳定性及其功能的作用机制，充分认识在人类活动影响下物种多样性和变化机理，保护与合理利用生物多样性资源，以及对受损生态系统的恢复与重建均具有重要的理论意义。为了回答这一问题，生态学家们进行着不懈的努力，提出了许多理论和假说，但目前仍存在许多争论，其焦点是竞争与共存的关系问题。笔者就这一重要科学问题的研究进展进行了综述。

Reviews of the Study on the Maintaining Mechanism of Species Diversity

The maintaining mechanism of species diversity is a key and forward problem in biodiversity study. The in depth research on this problem is of great theoretical significance to further explaining the effect of species diversity on ecosystem stability and function, to fully understanding the changing mechanism of biodiversity under the effect of human activities, to conserving and making rational use of biodiversity resources, and to restoring and rebuilding the damaged ecosystem. Ecologists have been making great efforts to provide a better solution to this problem, and so far they have brought forward a large number of theories and hypotheses. But the progress in this filed is far from being satisfactory and there still exist numerous debates, which essentially focus on the relationship between competition and coexistence. What I have discussed in this paper is a summary of the progress of the research on the very scientific problem mentioned above.
