| Abstract: | During early feeding of Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus) with commercial salmon feed, a proportion (2–14%) of the fry were found to have large particles lodged in the forward part of the alimentary canal. These particles were found to be part of the roughage component of the feed. It is considered that they would have led to the death by starvation of the fry which had ingested them. |
