Infection and Genotyping of Enterocytozoon bieneusi in Bos frontalis from Nujiang Prefecture of Yunnan Province

Abstract:In order to understand the infection of Enterocytozoon bieneusi of Bos frontalis in Nujiang prefecture,Yunnan province,1129 fecal samples of B.frontalis were collected from Jiumendang village,Guquan village,Yazuoluo village,Cikai town and Dulong River town of Nujiang prefecture in four seasons(spring,summer,autumn and winter).The infection of E.bieneusii was studied by molecular biological technique.The results showed that the total infection rate was 1.68%(19/1129).Comparison of infection rates among sites showed a statistically significant difference(P<0.05),the highest infection rate was in Dulong River town.In the four quarters,the highest infection rate was 3.26%(9/276)in summer and 1.10%(3/272),1.28%(4/312)and 1.12%(3/269)in spring,autumn and winter,respectively.Infection rate in four quarters was not significantly different(P>0.05).Sequence analysis showed that 4 known genotypes(EbpC,CHN3,CHN4,BEB4)and 2 new genotypes(YNNJ1,YNNJ2)were identified in 19 positive samples.The results enriched the genotype data of E.bieneusi.Phylogenetic analysis showed that all the 6 genotypes of E.bieneusi obtained in this study were zoonotic genotypes.There is a potential risk of zoonotic transmission in E.bieneusi of B.frontalis in Nujiang prefecture.
