Abstract: | Females of the parasitoid,Bracon brevicornis were more strongly attracted to “live” larvae ofSesamia cretica (themselves) than any other accessible materials (e. g. “stalk”, “frass”, “paralyzed larva” or control). They were also attracted to paralyzed larvae but only when live larvae were absent. On the other hand, males were more strongly attracted to “stalk” than to “live” larvae or any other available material. Apparently “stalk” exhibited an important cue that directed the parasitoid males. |
