It shows antimicrobial activity over a wide range of bacterial and fungal pathogens of fish and crustacea. It is non-toxic at treatment levels to macrobrachium rosenbergii, the prawns rapidly absorb the drug, tissues achieve effective drug levels, and the compound is rapidly excreted after treatment.
