| Abstract: | The free-living nematode Panagrellus redivivus was incubated with the organophosphorus pesticide, phorate, and the rates of uptake and metabolism determined by radiochemical methods. Extensive catalysis of phorate hydrolysis and side-chain oxidation was observed, and the location of this activity within the system is discussed. Little accumulation of phorate or its metabolites was found in the nematodes. |
