焦点-背景(Figure-Ground)理论是认知语言学中以凸显原则为基础的一种理论,是认知语言学的研究热点之一,在解释认知空间关系如英汉空间方位词、英汉存现句、写景诗等方面有明显的优势,但该理论也存在不足,如焦点和背景的划分、不同语言在空间描述上的空间认知差异等问题。本研究拟针对焦点-背景理论解释语言认知空间关系的优势和不足展开讨论。

On advantages and disadvantages of Figure-ground theory in interpretation of recognizing the spatial relations

Figure-ground theory is the theory based on Principle of Prominence in cognitive linguistics,which is of insignificance in cognitive linguistic study.Analyzing spatial relations,existential sentences and topographical poetry from the perspective of Figure-ground theory is properly important theoretically and practically with evident advantages as well as unavoided disadvantages.The paper makes a detailed analysis of advantages and disadvantages of Figure-ground theory in recognizing the language cognitive spatial relations.
