| Abstract: | Bahia grass ( Paspalum notatum Flugge) is a useful covering crop for soil conservation.It was introduced to Jiangxi Province from Taiwan in 1989. Being planted in Jiangxi and other provinces, the grass is found suitable under vast climatic and soil conditions of subtropical areas in China. The biological characteristics and ecological effects were examined. There are ecological, economical and social benefits in planting the Bahia grass for soil conservation and also for the slopeland agriculture. |
