Abstract: | A survey of aphids and their parasitoids in some localities of Algiers from February 2017 to June 2018 detected the presence of Aphelinus chaonia Walker, 1839 for the first time in Algeria. This parasitoid was found on five aphid species: Hyalopterus pruni, Aphis craccivora, Aphis fabae, Aphis spiraecola and Takecallis arundicolens. The latter was found on the leaves of Bambusa sp. and reported for the first time in Algeria and also Africa. Data on the diagnosis and the bioecology of Aphelinus chaonia are also given in this paper. |
