Analysis of National Litchi Production Situation in 2021

Since the beginning of 2021,China Agriculture(Litchi and Longan)Research System conducted continuous follow-up investigations on the national litchi production situation.The weather change and the dynamics of flowering and fruit setting were analyzed and predicated yield and maturity of different cultivars in different regions were obtained.The total production of litchi was estimated 281.41×10⁴ t,including 143.71×10⁴ t in Guangdong,97.84×10⁴ t in Guangxi,21.92×10⁴ in Hainan,10.92×10⁴ t in Fujian,4.65×10⁴ t in Yunnan and 2.36×10⁴ t in Sichuan.The mature amount of litchi in May and June was expected to be accounted for 89.60%production in the whole year.The yields of main litchi cultivars in demonstration counties were:57.02×10⁴ t(Feizixiao),51.22×10⁴ t(Heiye),19.24×10⁴ t(Huaizhi),15.85×10⁴ t(Guiwei),11.09×10⁴ t(Baitangying),9.53×10⁴ t(Baila),8.84×10⁴ t(Jizuili),5.45×10⁴ t(Nuomici)and 5.40×10⁴ t(Shuangjianyuhebao),respectively.The total production of litchi in 2021 would increase by 10.00%than that in 2020.Moreover,the favorable and unfavorable factors for the development of litchi industry in 2021 were analyzed,and relevant suggestions was presented in order to provide reference for the government’s decision-making and production management.
