Wetlands |

Abstract: | A natural wetland is a mixture of characteristics from upland areas combined with those of an aquatic environment. The water table is usually at or near the surface, or the land is covered by water less than two metres deep. They occupy depressions in the landscape and are often recipients of waterborne pollutants. The inherent ability of wetlands to purify gives them an important role to play in water quality improvement. |
