Prospects of using the <Emphasis Type="Italic">lsb</Emphasis> mutation in breeding of determinate buckwheat cultivars

The effect of variants of the action of allele lsb differing in strength of manifestation on productivity of buckwheat plants against the background of a recessive homozygote for gene D is studied. An increase of reduction of the branching potential of upper branches leads to a decrease in both biological and grain productivity of plants. However, such plants are much more tolerant to thick planting and to a lesser degree they reduce productivity in a dense crop.
