Abstract:With continuous research of nanotechnology,various nano materials are widely used in biomedical field.Carbon nanotubes(CNTs),with unique physicochemical properties such as small volume and high specific surface area,could adsorb or couple biological macromolecules or drugs,penetrate cytomembrane,effectively cross biological barriers,and play the characteristics as carriers,which would be widely used in the areas of protein,gene and drug delivery,and are increasingly concerned by more researchers.As a new nano material,the dispersion,stability and histocompatibility of CNTs in solution could be further improved through functionalization in the future,so as to maximize the coupling rate and activity with biomolecules and further effectively utilize CNTs.In the paper,the properties and functionalization of CNTs as well as the research progress on their role of transporting nucleic acids,genes,proteins and drugs as carriers were summarized,with a view to providing a reference for their application as carriers in the biomedical area.
