Abstract: | The authors describe the compared pharmacokinetics of triclabendazole in three camels and four sheep which were given orally a single dose of 10 mg/kg liveweight. Plasma concentrations of triclabendazole and its main metabolites were determined by high performance liquid chromatography. No parental drug was detected in the blood plasma due to a hepatic first passage effect. It appeared that there was a major difference between the two species, triclabendazole sulfoxide concentrations being two times lower in camels than in sheep. |
