拉丁美洲热带木材树种数据库查询系统（ＬＡＴＷＤＳ）共收录了２００种拉丁美洲木材。存在每个树种的中文，拉丁文名称，商品材名称，地方名称以及相关的木材性质，木材解剖特征、用途及地理分布的数据信息和６００幅木材解剖结构的图片信息。本文介绍了该系统的分析与设计思想、数据库结构，数据记载内容及系统的功能和操作。

Studies on Latin America Tropical Wood Database System

In this paper, the principles of design, structure and contents of the database, as well as the functions and operations of a large software package of wood information database with 200 valuable tropical species from Latin America are introduced. Covering Latin name, family name, trade name, local name, wood feature of properties and anatomy and 600 pictures of anatomy. This system can offer many kinds of retrieval service and be used as an important tool in wood research, teaching, processing and trade.
