CORRELATION ANALYSIS FOR STABILITY OF AGRONOMIC TRAITS IN GOSSYPIUM HIRSUTUM L.

The stability of 8 cotton genotypes tested in 6 environments was studied. There were closely positive correlations among three stability statistics, i. e. cofficient of variation, coefficient of variation of genotype X environment interactions and coefficient of regression. Stability of characters studied was not apparently correlated with their mean performances. But the stability of lint yield was correlated with the boll number per plant, the first node of branch, the boll weight, and the period of growth and development.
