| 摘 要： | 近几年来，随着高校招生人数的不断扩大，万人大学比比皆是，高校图书馆建设呈现出规模化趋势，业务发展迅猛，而人员编制又紧缺，工作人员长期以来处于超负荷运转状态，给图书馆的读者服务和管理带来一系列的困难。如何充分挖掘现有资源为读者服务成了一个迫在眉睫的问题，笔者结合实际，就高校图书馆另辟蹊径，选拔、利用贫困大学生为“协助馆员”，参与协助图书馆的读者服务与管理提出了一些建设性的意见与建议供同行参考。
