进入20世纪90年代，全球花卉生产和销售始终保持旺盛发展势头，使花卉产业成为世界上最具活力的产业之一。1991年世界花卉消费额已达到1000亿美元，预计到本世纪末将达到2000亿美元。本文概述了近年来世界花卉产业的进展情况和今后的发展趋势，为我国花卉工作者了解世界，制定快速发展我国花卉产业的对策提供参考。

The Evolution and Development of Flower Industry in the World

The production and sales of flowers have been developing rapidly world wide in the 1990s. Flower industry, as it is, is becoming one of the most dynamic industries in the world. In 1991, the sales of flowers worldwide amounted to 100 billion U. S. dollars and the figure is expected to double and reach 200 billion U. S. dollars by the end of this century. This thesis generalizes the evolution and development of floriculture of the late in the world and tries to fathom out the direction by which the flower industry may develop further in the future. Combining the past, present and near future, this article provides the information for Chinese florists to keep up with the latest of floricultural development elsewhere in the world and to work out the how-to's as regards the development of their trade in China.
