Abstract:An experiment was conducted to study the effects of spatial size and number of blocks on induced spawning of Dastarcus helophoroide.D.helophoroide adults were reared in plastic containers in different sizes in which there were different number of blocks for inducing spawning.Results showed that the difference in average fecundity of the adults was not significant between the four treatment groups(p>0.05).Compared with the other three treatments,treatment 3(big plastic container with three bocks) could induce the adults at sustained high levels of oviposition.The number of average egg mass of treatment 1(big plastic container with one bock) was 47.92,which was 29.23% higher than that of the treatment 4(small plastic container with one bock).The differences in number of average egg mass were significant(p<0.05) between treatment 1 and treatment 4 and between treatment 1 and treatment 3.Compared with other treatments,the average number of eggs per mass of treatment 1 showed a high concentration ratio,which accords with normal distribution.Treatment 1 is favorable for making egg cards released in the field to control Anoplophora glabripennis as artificial rearing of D.helophoroide.
