Abstract:Classified cultivation of undergraduates of Biotechnology maior is not only the inevitabte choice for the teaching reform under the new situation of the tertiary education, it also represents a useful attempt of training students in accordance with their aptitude, meeting the their personal development and social needs of diversified talents, and realizing an effective teaching. The school-runnlng concept of being people-oriented, demand-based design, platform building, classified cultivation and diversified development must be followed. A flexible course system consisting of the 'foundation platform & direction modules' should be established in according to the principle of 'accumulation of basic knowledge for the juniors and directed training for the seniors'. Under the support conditions of teachers, educational practice, and educational system, the classified training mechanism should be gradually established in order to adapt it to the sound and sustainable development of application-based and research-oriented higher education in our country.
