Aesthetic Analysis of the Images of Monks and Nuns in ＂San Yan＂

＂San Yan＂, or Comprehensive Words to Admonish the World and other two story collections of Feng Menglong, are important texts of popular literature in the Ming dynasty. The images of the monks and nuns in them are full of the flavor of the time and of distinctly different aesthetic value from that of the images of the monks and nuns in previous literary works. This article focuses on the classification of this group of images and elaborates on the reasons for their aesthetic orientation.
