A simplified method for determining acetic acid soluble phosphorus in plant tissue

Abstract

The proposed procedure greatly simplifies the determination of 2% HOAc soluble P in plant tissue. Extraction with Darco G 60 eliminates the need for the H₂O₂ oxidation of the extract. The use of vanadomolybdic acid as the chromogen results in a high degree of color stability eliminating the need for careful timing of the period between color development and transmission readings.
