Abstract:The resistance of 1322 national and foreign wheat varieties and hybrid progenies of chinese spring Triticum aestivum var.(6×)×Hordeumbulbosum USSM(4×) were identified at serious WSSMV-infected fields in Xinchang County,Zhejiang Province during 1985-1988.The results showed that 52 varieties and materials were immune to WSSMV,34 were high resistant with a incidence of 0.1-5.0% and 10 were resistant with 5.1-10.0% incidence.No inclusion and virus particles were observed with microscope and electromicroscope in uninfectcd wheat plants,illustrating that these varieties were immune to WSSMV and not carrying virus with out symptoms expression.Among the total tested local wheat varieties of Zhejiang Province,the rates of high resistant varieties of Meiyu type and Hongtieding type were 54.5% and 34.1% respectively.Among the all identified hybrid propenies of T.aestivum×H.bulbosum,the rate of high resistant materials was 38.1%,in dicating that the anti-WSSMV genes could be easily transfered to T.aestivum var.chinese spring.The resistant varieties were quite stable,and less changeable in the resistance whereas the susceptible varieties were more changeable under different climate conditions in different years.
