| Abstract: | the textual structure of statement of defense follows the periodic hierarchy of ＂macrotheme--hypertheme—theme--new--hypernew--macronew＂. This periodic hierarchy corresponds to the psychological characteristics of the audience. So it is significant to the presentation of defence and the relization of its persuasive goal. Besides, the periodic analysis of the textual structure will shed some light to the preparation and drafting of statement of defense. |
