Culture of Fowl Pox Virus in Chick-Embryo Fibroblast

Chick embryo fibroblast (CEF) was cultured on 199 medium with calf serum in NUNC cellular culture flask,Denmark made.The results were as follows:The CEF grown quickly,fulled the bottom of bottle after 24 hrs culture and closely nestled to wall of culture flask,and there not was the phonomena of border crimp and exfoliation Fowl pox virus (FPV) which had adapted to grow in chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) was inoculated to CEF;4 days later,the expected changes in the cell and a great member of multinucletea giant cell were found.It was demonstrated that the FPV can induce the cytomixis and when FPV was proliferated in CEF the enormous virus can be obtained meanwhile,the typical white pockmark virus cultured in cell can be formed in CAM inoculated by the virus cultured in cell.
