This paper discusses the importance of protecting and constructing water conservation forests to Lijiang River from the followings: the relationship between water flowing amount and variance history of the forests and water conservation forests in Lijiang River area,the status and function of Maoer Mountain forests to conserve Lijiang water conservation forests,and the upriver of Lijiang's ecohydrological function status,proves that protection and construction of water conservation forests is the first and essential measure to solve the drought problem of Lijiang River,and makes some corresponding suggestions.
