Abstract:Observations under transmisson electron mieroscope showed that cupyrene sperm of blackcutworm (Agrotisy psilon Rot.) consists of acrosome,acrosome-nucleus connective,nucleus,flagellum andappendages on the plasma membrane,etc.;While the apyrene sperm is only composed of acrosome andflagellum.Some different results are reported as follows:1.Eupyrene sperm has a rather significantacrosome,which is of the electron-opaqu shape of two adjunct trapeziums or a single triangle conjugated withanother V-shaped structure in transverse sections;the acrosome of apyrene sperm appears regularly circular.2.Between acrosome and nucleus exists a short connection structure,which is composed of twenty to thirtysinglet tubules dispersed in moderate electron density matrix.3.Nucleus of eupyrene sperm has differentshapes from anterior to posterior portion,and appears crescent,semi-circular,nearly circular,circular,respectively.4.A single reticular appendage and many lacinate appendages are associated with the plasmamembrane of eupyrene sperm,and the appendage configuration changes considerably on each portion of thesperm.
