Effect of Growth Retardants on Content of Non-structural Carbohydrate and Products of Ley mus chinensis

This study was aimed to investigate the effect of paclobutrazol (PP₃₃₃),chlormequat (CCC) and trinexapac-ethyl (TE) on the content Non-structural carbohydrates (NSC) and products of Leymus chinensis and to provide a basis for the production of Leymus chinensis in Horqin sandy land. The results showed that:the content of NSC increased by three growth retardants,and TE was the most effective one. After 15 days,the NSC content of Leymus chinensis treated with 1.8 kg·hm^-2PP₃₃₃ was 33.0% higher than that of control (P<0.05). After 30~75 days,the NSC content of Leymus chinensis treated with 1.8 kg·hm^-2TE was 29.2%,33.3%,63.4% and 49.3% higher than that of control (P<0.05).The height and products of Leymus chinensis reduced by three growth retardants,and PP₃₃₃ was the most effective one. So,the content of NSC was not an important indicator of increased production of Leymus chinensis. The products was mainly affected by plant height.
