Abstract: | Maxima in the population of the summerfruit tortrix moth, Adoxophyes orana, have been detected in orchards in the Netherlands using traps containing its pheromones. Attempts to disrupt the pheromone communication of A. orana in orchards using geometrical isomers of the pheromone have given variable results. Factors, in particular temperature, affecting pheromone communication in A. orana are discussed. |
