Abstract: | Summary Variation in density and moisture content of Eucalyptus grandis wood and bark is described utilizing the trees established for a half-sib progeny test in southern Florida. Differences in density and moisture content among progenies were significant. Variations in wood properties were largely due to the genetic differences. No relationship was found between wood density and wood moisture content. Implications for genetic manipulation of wood quality for this species were discussed. |
