Indirect spectrophotometric method for determining epicillin |

| Abstract: | A new UV spectrophotometric assay for determination of epicillin in capsules and plasma is reported. The method is based on the absorptivity of a degradation product obtained from the acidic hydrolysis of the antibiotic. The isolation, identification, individual capsule assays, composite assay, and recovery studies are described. Also, the proposed method is compared with a dc polarographic assay in plasma. |
