| Abstract: | Extract Scholar, chemist, veterinary scientist, researcher in animal health and nutrition, administrator in agriculture, teacher, educationalist and humanitarian; these were Ira James Cunningham, who died on August 28, 1971, just seven short months after retiring from the position of foundation Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Massey University.
