| Abstract: | The morphology and structure of the pollen grains of two Gossypium species,G. klotzschianum Anderson and G. davidsonii kellogg were studied from the taxono-mic viewpoint under the scanning electron microscope. It was found that the twoGossypium species differed from each other in the number and type of tremata distri-bution on the surface of pollen grains. the length and broadness of the columellaein the sporodermis and some other attributes of the morphology and structure. Theseconspicuous differences between these two species can serve as palynlogical evidencefor the conclusion that they were two taxanomically independent species. |
